Entertainer Woman Maggie Smith, known for the Harry Potter films and Downton Monastery, has passed on at 89 years old, her family has said.A legend of English stage and screen, she won two Oscars during her vocation - for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in 1970 and California Suite in 1979.She had four different assignments, and got seven Bafta grants.

Driving the recognitions, Top state leader Keir Starmer said Lady Maggie "was dearest by so many for her extraordinary ability, turning into a genuine irreplaceable asset whose work will be valued for ages to come".In the Harry Potter films, Woman Maggie played the sour Teacher Minerva McGonagall, well known for her sharp witch's cap and harsh way with the youthful wizards at Hogwarts.In hit ITV dramatization Downton Convent, she played Violet Crawley, the Dame Royal lady of Grantham, the amazing female authority who succeeded at wilting jokes through the show's six series.

Tribute: A considerable star in front of an audience and screenAn assertion from her children Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin said: "It is with extraordinary misery we need to declare the passing of Woman Maggie Smith.

"She died calmly in medical clinic early earlier today, Friday 27th September.
"A seriously confidential individual, she was with loved ones toward the end. She leaves two children and five adoring grandkids who are crushed by the deficiency of their remarkable mother and grandma."

They said thanks to "the great staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Emergency clinic for their consideration and unstinting generosity during her last days".They added: "We thank you for all your benevolent messages and support and ask that you regard our security right now."
